Aksra Theatre is home to the Aksra Hoon Lakorn Lek small rod puppet show, a cultural symbol representative of Thailand’s rich artistic tradition. Aksra Hoon Lakorn Lek provides audiences with a cabaret-style show of rod puppets weaving together music, spectacular set design, costumes, light and sound with superbly choreographed Thai classical dance. Aksra Hoon Lakorn Lek troupe of Thai classical puppeteers are highly artistic and skilled in orchestrating puppets with flawless precision, rendering performances of sublime harmony that bring the puppets to life in the presentation of scenes from diverse stories including the famous “Ramayana” ancient epoch.

Aksra Theatre is one of the few remaining venues where the Hoon Lakorn Lek puppet performances can still be seen. During the 75-minute performance, you will be charmed by hilarious interludes and the Jongkraben Orchestra that performs with both Thai and Western instruments.
